Unfortunately is did close last week. They had been losing thousands of $ every week and could no longer keep it going. It did not matter what they tried the economy was keeping people home.

I really like the Brown family, staff, drivers and the facility is GREAT. So, w/that said I don't blame them for closing the track w/the money that was being spent week in and week out.
BUT the part that irks me as a LOYAL fan that went EVERY Friday night is no warning, no announcement, no message to the drivers, staff, fans on the website just CLOSED. I can't imagine the day the website popped up CLOSED that this decision was spur of the moment and made that day. If they knew that the 25th of July was going to be the last race why not publicize it. "July 25th will be the last race for the Brown Family come out and celebrate a good ride w/some great racin" or something along that line.
Bottom line I wish the Brown family the best and really enjoyed the time @ the track while they owned it. Allot better then the ol man who owned it before them. But, I thought it was rather bogus how the plug was pulled.

It had already been pretty much established that the track was going to close at the end of this season, unless things improved drastically...I'm sure there probably was some warning to those who were there at the last event...

No there was no notice. It was not decided until the early part of the week when it was announced that they would be posting a new payout. Harsh emails and ranting ensued. Steve had had enough of the complaining and closed it.
Knowing what I do I have estimated that the track and specifically Steve lost about 100k this year. No one could keepup that kind of negative income.
